Oh what a night!
Here at The Devon Spotted Pig, we love a party – so we threw one! To celebrate the opening of our gorgeous new holiday home Wild Oak Barn, we invited some of our best friends in the media to come and stay – and, of course, eat.
Along came Mary Isokariari from The Daily Express who brought her lovely mum Inoma. All the way from London, they loved the hot tub, the food and the chance to explore this lovely part of East Devon. Lucy Foxell from London Unattached came along with partner Paul and regaled us with tales of her acting days, including a spooky turn as a real life murder victim on Crimewatch.
Our very own Carolyn Bellinger did the honours in the new Wild Oak Barn kitchen by rustling up a feast of pork fillet from our rare breed pigs. What with three ovens to choose from (all Neff, natch) she said the kitchen was ‘a joy – there’s just so much space’. Guests started with drinks on the terrace followed by canapes in the kitchen. Then all ten gathered around the huge dining table for a real gourmet treat.
When you come and stay, you too can book our catering if you’d like your very own effort-free feast of an evening. Or why not try out those ovens and try out your own culinary skills?
Huge thanks to Gary Holpin for these lovely shots of our very first feast in Wild Oak Barn. The first of many, we are sure…
